Dean Erwin Knapp

	Dean Erwin Knapp, 86, of DuQuoin, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2001 at the Beech Grove Meadows in Beech Grove, Ind.
	Dean was a retired custodian at the First Baptist Church in DuQuoin.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of DuQuoin.
	He was born November 7, 1914 at Sunfield, the son of Jake and Ida Jane (Woodside) Knapp.  He married Frances E. Fannie Polley in September 1940 at Perryville, Mo. and she preceded him in death on April 19, 1994.
	He is survived by two sons, Donald Dean Knap and wife Sarah of West Frankfort and Ronald Gene Knapp and wife Marilyn of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughter, Jane Ann Knapp of Indianapolis, Ind.; sister, Wanda Briggs of Malwaukie, Ore.; four grandsons, Wayne and Jerry Knapp, Ron Jr. and Timothy Knapp and five great-grandsons.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and three sisters.
	Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 10 at the First Baptist Church in DuQuoin with Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating.
	Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
	Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery at DuQuoin.
	Friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church.
